Hortobágy

The “Hortobágy” is a long-distance Eurocity train between Záhony, Hungary, Debrecen, Budapest and Vienna, Austria. The train’s name come from the Hortobágyi Nemzeti Park.

The “Hortobágy” is a long-distance Eurocity train between Záhony, Hungary, Debrecen, Budapest and Vienna, Austria. The train’s name come from the Hortobágyi Nemzeti Park, Hungary’s biggest and oldest National Park, preserving the “Puszta”, a temperate grassland biome.

Since Timetable 2018 the “Hortobágy” carries also 1-2 Ukrsalisnyzja through sleeping carriages continuing to Lviv and Kyiv, Ukraine. The train set consisted out of ZSSK carriages (dining car included). Before that between timetable 2015 and 2017 the train set consisted out of PKP carriages (dining car included).
