Created in 2001, SJ (formally SJ AB) is a government-owned passenger train operator in Sweden. The company is responsible for the onboard catering itself.
A dining car or onboard bistro area are attached with the night train services as well as with the X 2000 tilting trains, in service between Stockholm and Gothenburg, Malmö and Oslo, Norway.
The SJ night train service (Swedish: SJ Nattåg) from Umeå Central or Duved to Stockholm Central or Gothenburg Central come with sleeper as well as standard carraiges and a bistro carriage. The Stockholm-Malmö route doesn’t have a bistro carraige.

SJ Norge
Since 2020 SJ is also operating passenger train services in Norway, including the realtions Oslo – Trondheim and Trondheim – Bodø, which both include trains with a bistro section.
